5 Day Basic to Advanced Survival Course

The 5 Day Basic to Advanced Survival Course has been designed for people wishing to get a real taste of the survival experience with 5 full days and 4 nights in a shelter you have built with a fire you have made for outdoor cooking and warmth. This is all done using the natural resources found around you. Course content is the same as with the 2 and 3 day courses, however a much greater level of detail is possible with a significant amount of additional supervised practice and guidance in all areas. By the end of the 5 day course, participants are generally confident and competant in all of the basic survival skills with a firm understanding and appreciation of the subject and it's many challenges.

Training is based upon a very old, widely used, tried and tested methodology and set of principles. The approach we use has ensured the safety and survival of literally thousands of people the world over and has been the basis of numerous best selling books, with our own Lofty Wiseman's book selling almost 2 million copies in over 18 languages.

We teach in a practical, hands-on manner ensuring that everyone masters the skills we teach enough to be able to use them on their own.

All of the basics are covered, including;

• Survival psychology and the 'Will to Live'
• Your Survival Tin (We give you one)
• Shelter building (natural and improvised)
• Fire starting and maintenance (without matches, wet and dry)
• Reflectors for heat and protection
• Site / Camp location and selection
• Signalling for rescue
• Finding Water and making it safe to use
• Natural Food (Flora, Fauna, Fungi, insects, invertebrates etc)
• Wild Fishing (limited locations only)
• Plants for Medicine
• Navigation without aid (sun, star & terrain based)
• Improvised map making
• Medical (being your own doctor in the wilds)

This course is great fun with enough reality to provide a good challenge for participants with worthwhile rewards for any individual or group.
