The 7 Day Advanced Trueways Survival Course is unique. No other course available to the general public can offer the same challenge and reward.
The Trueways Advanced Survival Course provides a full survival camp experience, with very limited gear and equipment.
The course will be based around a survival scenario, where you will have to provide for yourselves in a remote and possibly unfriendly part of the world, including dealing with any casualties which have occurred. Trueways staff will provide guidance and assistance, including teaching advanced techniques not normally taught on other courses, but you will find yourselves increasingly having to fend for yourselves. You will have to survive through applying the skills and techniques learned on previous courses, adding advanced skills learned during this course, whilst living entirely off the land (and rivers) for the duration, complete with having to navigate to safety overnight on the last two days.
Prerequisites: Participants must have attended at least a 3 day course with Trueways Survival School or a 2 day course with instructor recommendation.
An end of course social will be organised (drinks and buffet) during which special certificates and certified sew-on badges will be awarded to those who make it. See below to book.
Advanced and in-depth techniques will include:
Different types of natural shelters (temporary and longer-term)
Natural beds and bedding techniques
Fire-lighting by friction, chemicals and using salvaged vehicle parts and fuels
Coping with casualties (including moving them over distances)
Handling and preparing fish, fowl and game
Understanding and maintaining balanced nutrition from the wilds
Making and using tools, containers, cordage and hunting gear from natural resources
